What you receive

A one-page PDF that maps your described use case to likely role and risk questions, lists assumptions, and flags where counsel or a deeper technical file is required.

  • Intake summary of the system or use case you describe
  • Working hypothesis on role(s) and why those labels might apply
  • Risk-band questions (prohibited / high / limited / minimal transparency) with the facts still needed
  • A short evidence checklist (intended purpose, users, human oversight, logging)
  • An explicit statement that the map is not legal advice and not a filing

How it works

Three steps. Then a dated PDF.

  1. 01

    Choose a scorecard

Use the buy button on this page to pay via Lemon Squeezy. We confirm scope and turnaround by email before we start.

  2. 02

    Send a public target

Send a plain-language description of the system: who uses it, what it outputs, and how it is offered.

  3. 03

    Get a dated PDF

A structured brief you can forward internally. It records what was reviewed — not a certificate and not legal advice.

Who it’s for

  • Product and engineering leads shipping AI features to EU users
  • Legal operations preparing an AI Act workstream or vendor review
  • US and UK companies placing AI systems or GPAI-related services on the EU market

Why this exists

The EU AI Act uses roles (provider, deployer, importer, distributor) and risk categories. Teams often jump to documentation before they have a shared picture of whether a system is in scope.

  • The same product can look in-scope or out-of-scope depending on use, users, and how it is placed on the market.
  • Internal debates go faster when role and risk questions are written down in one place.
  • A scope map is a structured intake. It is not a determination that you are or are not regulated.

What this is not

  • Not a legal opinion on applicability, classification, or deadlines
  • Not a complete technical documentation file or conformity assessment
  • Not advice on prohibited practices, fundamental-rights impact assessments, or GPAI obligations

FAQ

Will you tell us if we are in scope?

We will map the facts you provide to the questions that usually decide scope and role. We will not issue a legal determination. Where the facts are thin, the PDF says so.

What do we need to submit?

A plain-language description of the system: who uses it, what it outputs, whether people in the EU are users or subjects, and how it is offered commercially. No model weights required.

Is this a high-risk classification?

No. Classification is a legal and factual exercise. The scope map lists the questions and the missing evidence; it does not assign a binding risk class.

Can we use this with vendors?

You can share it as an internal brief. It is not a vendor certification and should not be presented as a regulatory filing.

Does this cover the UK or US AI rules?

No. This product is scoped to the EU AI Act framing you asked us to apply. Other regimes need a separate review.

Is this legal advice?

No. Magnesia LLC is not a law firm. The PDF is a technical readiness snapshot. It is not a legal opinion, not certification, and not a prediction of regulatory or litigation outcomes.

How long until I receive the PDF?

After checkout (or an email request) and a confirmed public URL, domain, or description, we produce a dated scorecard. We will tell you the expected turnaround for your request before we start. We do not promise same-day delivery.

What is in the PDF?

Scope (what was reviewed and when), findings or structured questions from public signals or your intake, a short executive page, and a “what this is not” box. See “What you receive” on this page for the product-specific list.

What is your refund policy?

Digital reports are not returnable like a physical product. We refund billing errors, cases where we cannot deliver, and confirmed scope mismatches. Details are on the Refund Policy page.
